In 1887, the May Day court of Bloomsburg University sealed away a dangerous Unseelie homunculus. Fifty years later in 1937, Louise Bailey stumbles into Georgiana Oswald, the last surviving member, and in the process accidentally unleashes the creature on the town. The two women from opposite generations must come together and enlist the aid of a Seelie ally to reseal the beast before it upends the balance of the seasons, but not all problems have a permanent solution.

But if no one remembers their presence, what was the point of the Agent's experience among them in the first place?
